To defend the harbor of St Helier, Jersey, against Allied air raids during World War Two, 2 cm air defense guns were placed by the German invaders in and around it. A smaller anti-tank gun was used to hold off enemy ships approaching the harbor. The Widerstandsnest consist of three large air raid shelters with FlaK positions on top. The shelters were used to protect the work force at the harbor and are quite large. One Luftschutzbunker (air raid shelter) was a shelter for 200 men. Defensive power on the Albert Pier consisted of three 2 cm Flak 38 anti-aircraft guns supported by a 60 cm searchlight and some machineguns.
