The German resistance nest or Widerstandsnest Mole Verclut lies at the north-eastern part of the Channel Island Jersey. It defended the St. Catherins bay to the south and Fliquet bay to the north together with Widerstandsnest Fliquet and its tower during World War Two. The bunkers are build at the edge and inside a rocky hillside near the harbor. The Widerstandsnest Mole Verclut was unfinished at the end of the war. The Organisation Todt, a German military engineering organisation, had plans to expand the number of bunkers of the position and expand the tunnel system inside the rock.
The Widerstandsnest is comprised of a Regelbau 670 bunker for a French 10,5 cm Kanone 331 (f). A Tobruk for a machinegun high on top of the rock towards the sea side. Left and Right of the R670 bunker were 2 heavy and one light machine guns, 3 mortars (one 8 cm, 2 French 5 cm). And seven flamethrowers and one 60 cm searchlight.

Inside the rocky hill the Germans excavated a cave system, or in German a “Hohlgangsanlage”. These military installation tunnels can be found all over the whole island. They were used as shelter, storage, or protection for specific machinery like electrical installations.
VisiT
During our visit in 2022 the cave system is home to a turbot farm. It seems that the turbot farm tunnels are open every Sunday if you like to visit them. At our arrival they were closed, check online when they are open, Or ask Jersey War Tours for information. There is a lovely place to eat and drink so take your time and enjoy.
