At the side of the Four-Fronts bridge is a field where a commemorative event was held in August 2024. During this event, all kinds of vehicles from both Allied and Axis sides came together for visitors to admire. There was a small fair and most of the vehicles gave a demonstration, they drove across a field and some fired their cannon like a Sexton and a Sherman Firefly of their machine guns.
The Tank Event Oeselgem, held near the vierfrontenbrug (Eng. Four-Fronts Bridge), is a reminder of the Battle of the Lis (Leie) during the invasion of Belgium by the German troops who invaded the Low Countries on May 10, 1940 during Fall Gelb.
Tank Event Oeselgem in 2024 was the second time this event was held, first time was in 2022. Check out the website for future events.
