The Renault UE Chenillete designated UE 2 was a French light tracked armored carrier used during World War II for logistical support and towing. Weighing 2.64 tons, it was unarmed in its standard configuration but could be fitted with a 7.5 mm MAC 31 machine gun for self-defense.

Powered by a Renault 4-cylinder, 38 hp petrol engine, it had a top speed of 30 km/h (19 mph) and a range of 100 km (62 mi). With 9 mm of armor, it provided minimal protection but was highly maneuverable. Designed primarily for transporting ammunition, supplies, and towing light artillery, the UE 2 was widely used by the French Army and later repurposed or converted by German forces after France’s defeat in 1940, like the Gepanzerte-MG-Träger Renault UE(f).
The French produced, between 1932 and 1940, almost 5200 units.
In the pictures below we can see the Renault UE Chenillette together with the Renault UK Trailer, as it is on display in the Musée des Blindes, Saumur, France.
