
This is a Memorial Garden to commemorate the soldiers of the Royal Netherlands Air Force (RNLAF), who have fallen by the cause of an accident or during acts of war while performing their duties in the air. The wall contains all names of victims from the establishment of the RNLAF until present day.
The lower inscription reads:
They gave their lives for our freedom and safety

WWII Memorial
Also in this Memorial Garden is another memorial stone. The stone carries a plaque to commemorate the fallen airmen during the defense of the Netherlands in May 1940 against the German invasion at the beginning of WWII.

Commemorations
The Royal Netherlands Air Force commemorates it’s members every year on the 1st of July, the day the Air Force was founded in 1913.
Visit the Memorial Garden at Soesterberg
The Memorial lies near the National Military Museum on the former Air Base of Soesterberg. It is open for visitors daily.
