Unic p107 – leichter Zugkraftwagen U304 (f) with Flak 38 Anti-Aircraft Gun – German Halftrack

The Zugkraftwagen U304(f) was a light German half-track artillery tractor used during World War Two, based on the captured French Unic P107 halfrack. After the fall of France the vehicles were added to the German army, which was in need of more prime movers. The Germans added more armor to the vehicle and re-designated it U304(f).

The halftrack was powered by a Delahaye 4-cylinder, 70 hp petrol engine, giving it a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) and a range of 200 km (124 mi). With its tracked rear suspension, it provided good off-road mobility, making it ideal for towing artillery pieces like the 7.5 cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun. Some variants were modified for roles such as troop transport, ammunition supply, and self-propelled anti-aircraft platforms. Despite being a repurposed French vehicle, the U304(f) served effectively with German forces, especially on the Eastern Front.

The leichter Zugkraftwagen U304 (f) in the photos is a self-propelled anti-aircraft version on display in the MM Park museum in France and has a Flak 38 gun installed.
