Japanese Tank – Type 95 Ha-Go – Light Tank

The Type 95 Ha-Go was a light tank used by the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. Weighing approximately 7.4 tons, it was armed with a 37mm Type 94 tank gun and a 7.7mm Type 97 machine gun.

Powered by a 120 hp Mitsubishi air-cooled diesel engine, it had a top speed of 45 km/h (28 mph) and a range of 250 km (155 mi). Designed primarily for infantry support, it featured thin armor (up to 12 mm) and a three-man crew. While it was effective early in the war against poorly equipped forces, it was later outmatched by Allied tanks due to its weak armor and firepower. The Ha-Go saw extensive use in China, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific theaters.
