This Bf 109 started out as an HA-1112 Buchon, an under license built Messerschmitt manufactured by Hispano Aviación from 1951. Hispano Aviación had the license to build Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2 version but lacked a lot of information and materials from the original German fighter plane. They designed many components and used the HS 89-12Z engine instead of the DB 605A engine. The Spanish engine is easily recognized due to its larger volume, the German DB 605 is much sleeker.

After returning to Germany it was rebuilt back to a Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 with a DB 605 engine and received the Yellow < marking.
