This Bf 109 started out as an HA-1112, an under license built Messerschmitt manufactured by Hispano Aviación from March 1945. Hispano Aviación had the license to build Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2 version but lacked a lot of information and materials from the original German fighter plane. They developed a lot themselves and used the HS 89-12Z engine instead of the DB 605A engine. The Spanish engine is easily recognized due to its larger volume, the German DB 605 is much sleeker.
After returning to Germany it was rebuilt back to a Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-2 with a DB 605 engine and received the Yellow 4 marking.
We photographed this German fighter aircraft in the Aviation Museum in Rechlin, Germany, but it seems there is a connection with the Militärhistorisches Museum Flugplatz in Berlin-Gatow. We expected to see this plane here a few years earlier but it was not there on our visit.
So a good tip, to ourselves as well, is to always check in front if the object you want to see is still on display.
